Joel Dorman became the lead pastor of First Baptist Church on July 29, 2017. His personal mission statement is:“Through the empowerment of the Holy Spirit, equip the saints for ministry to the world and each other by intentional and strategic discipleship motivated by love for Christ and His will.”
Joel seeks to teach the Scriptures, lead the church, cast the vision for The Great Commandment and Great Commission, and develop leaders for the next level in their ministry.
Joel has a Bachelor of Music Education degree from the University of Southern Mississippi, and a Master of Divinity (Biblical Studies) from Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his Doctor of Ministry ("ABD") at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and anticipates on graduating in May 2019.
Joel is married to Patty (the woman of his dreams!) and has two children, his daughter Danielle (“Dani”) and Jonah, his son. One of Joel's favorite restaurants is P.F. Changs. He loves spending time with his family. Other hobbies include reading, grilling & smoking, watching movies (home theater), listening to music, and yard work.
He published his first book in October 2017: 31 Days of Spiritual Wisdom: A Month in the Proverbs. It is available through Amazon.
